The highest rank a scout can attained in the Boy Scouts of the Philippines Organization
is the Eagle Scout Award . It will be awarded to the scout who have earned specific number
of badges , community services and projects , good leadership skills and doing good deeds .
The giving of the Eagle Scout Award was started by the BSP in 1936 . On 1962 - 1976 , it was
renamed to Jose Rizal Scout Award . By 1976 , it was renamed again to Scout Citizen Award up
to 1994 . Then at last , it was renamed back to it's original name the Eagle Scout Award
on 1994 up to the present .
To be an Eagle Scout Awardee , or a Jose Rizal Scout Awardee , or a Citizen Scout Awardee
means these scouts have lived to the ideals of scouting to deserved the award . And it's
always an honor for these scout awardees to carry on living up to to these ideals in their
lives and their families .
For as the popular scout saying goes : " Once a scout is always a scout . "
